Change the Pallet is honored to be a guest author for ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability. Before we get into why this is so significant, a little background: ICLEI is a membership association of local governments worldwide that are committed to climate, sustainability, and energy actions. Their work is extremely important in connecting leaders to share solutions and accelerate game-changing sustainability and carbon-reduction programs. When ICLEI talks, local governments listen.
This is why Change the Pallet is thrilled to be recognized by ICLEI, and to have our article published to their community. The article demonstrates how lightweight, 100% recyclable cardboard shipping pallets can save cities money and reduce carbon emissions at scale, and offers specific policy recommendations.
Put another way: cardboard pallets are critical to achieving CO2e reductions and this fact is being recognized (and shared!) by one of the world’s most important and respected sustainability organizations. This is a big deal.
Last but certainly not least, many thanks to Roger Ballentine for co-authoring the article. Mr. Ballentine served President Clinton as Chairman of the White House Climate Change Task Force and Deputy Assistant to the President for Environmental Initiatives. He is widely considered to be one of the world’s foremost experts on sustainability.
